I wonder what she as a secular humanist thinks of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Wasn't she someone to follow in the example of?

Nihil Obstat

Apparently she'd prefer to quote Catholics who say they "hate religion".

One question I would ask such 'Catholics': What is so 'morally' wrong about Religion that makes you dislike it so much?

Perhaps I would be worked up if I understood the context in which that was written, but as it stands I don't get what is so unsettling. The way that I read it did not lead me to believe that she necessarily felt the saints were static, distant or make believe characters. I am sure that she knows better. But if you talk to most Catholics I think you would find that they do not udnerstand sainthood as anything attainable. To them saints lived in a different time and under much different circumstances. They are certianly wrong, but that is common thought. IMHO it seems she was just speaking her to her audience.

Wouldn't that be just as wrong? If she's going to present herself as a 'faithful' Catholic, one who can speak to other Catholics about Faith, then she has to do a much better job than just descending to their level... which is what this is at best. I'd tend to think that she's already there, personally...
