Nope. (ETA: we don't live at Bragg)

My husband was jumping out of the planes today so we went to watch. :)

Thanks. :) I was wishing I had a camera lens that got closer than 300mm, but my wallet won't support that kind of photography addiction. lol

Glad your husband had a safe jump :)

He's probably at Ft. Benning. My dad used to say it made no sense to him to jump out of a perfectly functioning air plane.

That's what I thought, but I thought only Jumpschool was at Benning. As far as I knew all the Airborn units Special Forces, Rangers, 82nd Airborn were stationed at Brgg. I guess I was mistake, happen [s]every now and again [/s]constantly

I want to jump out of an airplane!!! :woot:[/quote]

lol I don't. I'm a big chicken. But it's pretty cool to watch them come down.

Technically that was in Alabama... we're at Benning.

This was his 4th jump for Airborne school. He's got one more sometime tonight and then he's finished. I'm proud of him, I know he's been having some pain, they've been working really hard, and he gets airsick. He realized after his first jump that he needed Dramamine to make it through the rest of them.

Wow. I would never have the guts to jump out of an airplane, I hope he does well on his night jump :)

My dad also said the qualifying jump at night was easier for him because he couldn't see the ground. He also said he hoped to never do it again. He jumped twice from burning planes before jump training, and twice after training, but never again. He said he didn't need a hobby that bad.

It's like the boy scouts. You have to pay your dues, and get your merit badges.

Actually, I believe Jump Master School is at Bragg. Benning has several training schools, basic, OCS, Airborne, Ranger, etc. Then the actual Airborne and Ranger units (etc.) are stationed elsewhere.

lol Pretty much. I think he'll have to do a couple jumps in Ranger school, but God-willing no more after that.

If he's going to Ranger School, he'll get to spend some time in a North Florida swamp. Tell him dog flea collars around the top of his boots will keep the ticks and chiggers out, but get the waterproof kind.
