Why don't you have a choice?

and I'll give it a go

Your God is very likely fictitious and your world view intellectually unsustainable. The grand summation of the great works of your greatest thinkers consists in nothing more than the tragic, at times pathetic; (though often brilliant) attempt to graft coherence and intellectual respectability to a morphed and mangled religious tradition that ought to have been committed to the flames long ago. It’s mostly an instance of projection so spectacular one would almost be tempted to become a Feudist upon witnessing it. They labor within a particular set of structural confines (and sometimes outside of them) to rework and morph a collection of wildly divergent ancient texts into a coherent and intellectually defensible narrative. It’s pathetic. Sufi’s sing songs of praise to a beloved fiction they project onto a seventh century religious and social reformer while Christians contort a Jewish peasant executed into the backwaters of the Roman empire into a Divine being who is enthralled with infinite love just for them (needy much?). The only thing that preventing this sad comic display from bringing one to hysterics is the realization just piteous it all really is. You want to become “one” with some 19th century French aesthetic? You might as well try to become “one” with Santa Clause. Directing your energies to assimilating your life to the quixotic practices of a crackpot aesthetic lands somewhere near seeking to become one with the infinite love that is the Wholly Bubbly Mountain Man of the West’s devoted disciple. Why don’t you abandon your infantile escapism and actually engage with the world that actually exists? As much as you try to concoct a better reality to look forward to or aspire towards this life is the only one you have. If your delusions make you happy and let you live a fulfilling life then all the best, but I’d hate for the unfortunate reality of the inanity of it all to dawn on you when you’re an old man with only a few years left to repair the tattered and torn shambles of the life you spent your years trying to avoid and escape from. If you found my jeering at the idea of you becoming “one” with your avatar character and it “got” to you it’s only because deep down you know I’m correct and are ashamed.

its o.k. Will. I like some of your thoughts.

I really think that you have misinterpreted reality. You are certainly brilliant, yet you cannot build up a whole religious view, from your own brilliance. I mean you didnt even mention Jesus Christ, and you misquoted Chardin and Rahner.

I think that I am one with you, upon some views, yet you dont even seem to acknowledge my solemnity. As a matter of fact, you failed to even treat me like a free and knowing human. And its not a big deal, but seriously?

I think that you have misinterpreted many things. As much as I love you, your ego is asymptotic. You need to adjust this your ego and find peace. I mean seriously, I dont want to argue with you ad nauseum, but this week, I will become homeless.

That is the zero point I was referring to above. And you are in a much better position to do good. So I appreciate your lecture, yet just remember, we are going to die one day.

Nicholas. Forever.

To be honest I thought you were leaving voluntarily and just wanted to piss you off enough to get you to stay, although some of it is true. So if I didn't acknowledge something you consider important it's because I wasn't trying to be fair, naturally now I feel somewhat low knowing why you will be leaving. I don't know what I can do but I hope you get back on your feet soon and if your ever in Chapel Hill during the school year or Greenville during the rest of the time give me a call area code (252) seven one four-zero six one zero. Why don't you mention this? There are numerous people here who care about you and would surely love to help you in any way you could.

If by ironic you mean brilliant and correct then yes, it is very ironic

(sorry, but this thread is getting dangerously unlame)
