RezaMikhaeil
I know this may be a bit outdated, but I wasn't posted here back then so I thought I'd post it...even if a bit late. Joy, the Italian American Co-Host of the View, shortly after the current Pope had become Pope made an fairly idiot comment but also quite humorous for those that don't like her. She said, "Its weird to have a german pope because all my life I'd only known Italian popes". I found it pretty interesting that she was going along with all the people that were making a big deal out of it, particularly given that Joy is 65 years old. Pope John Paul II was Polish of course and was probably the Pope that was most memorable in her lifetime. Now I don't actually watch the view, but my wife does occasionally and I happened to be passing by as Joy made those comments. It led me to believe that she must be dumb founded alot, what a weird way to go through life. Reza
dominicansoul
she hates the Catholic Church, and has admitted as much. Once, she said, "I'm a recovering Catholic." And received a lot of applause for that comment. I don't watch the View. It can become a Catholic-bashing fest...

(in my experience, when i allow myself to forget all charity and kindness and fall into true hatred, i feel miserable. that does not however mean that every aspect of my life is miserable or that i, in general, lead a miserable, unfulfilling existence.) i think it's silly to harp on a single person and claim to know things about them and their lives. to point out errors in their theology is one thing. to assume to know their character is quite another. franciscanheart
let's just forget i said anything. but i'll stand by the "making broad, sweeping generalizations about people you don't even know is ignorant" part of my original statement.

franciscanheart
nice, dan. if you listen to joy enough, you quickly realize that she falls into the later category. and i still think it unfair to deem someone's life miserable simply because you do not see eye to eye with them.
