you can discuss politics, but political discussions aren't as prevalent during non-election times. The board was created because every other part of the phorum was being flooded with political posts. In another 4 years we'll probably ask Dust to re-create it to keep the political arguments out of Open Mic again. For now the threads are few enough that they can be taken to Debate or here in Open Mic without overtaking all the other threads.
