I remember when you were a Theologian in Training.
(Not that you still aren't ;) as I'm sure you'd be the first to
say because that area of study is inexhaustible).

Wow!! Three years ordained...

Many holy and happy returns.

How nice to have young men who have been fortunate to answer the call! :)
I did everything a priest would do. I had Mass this morning, a funeral, counseling over the phone, visited the sick, and taught apologetics

The pastor is not here, so I am flying solo. So, it's just me and my cat, and I had pasta and oil for dinner :)
Wow your awesome! thanks for saying yes to God like that! :priest:

Not even cake?

Nope, no cake. The pastor is gone and I didn't have time nor feel like going food shopping, so the cupboard was pretty bare and choices were pretty slim

BTW, thanks to everyone for the anniversary wishes :)

thank you,
Father,

for being faithful and loyal to your vows, for your service to Holy Mother Church, and for being a good shepherd to your flock...

we need more stories about "good" priests in the headlines....
When your pastor comes back, you should go shopping and get cake mix. Seriously.
It is only a celebration of a passage of time. Last year, in August, the pastor was away, and it was also my birthday. I celebrated Mass twice and con-celebrated a Quincenera. So, my birthday was spent celebrating another's celebration. It was Fulton Sheen who said "a priest is not his own" and, as priests, we are called to make sacrifices, to be a living sacrifice, even if that means I have to wait to celebrate my own landmarks in life.
