What Will You Be Doing?

What will you be doing at 9:00 a.m. today, the time at which, centuries ago, the Thrid Person of the Trinity descended upon the apostles?

I, for one, will probably be ringing bells or responding "sed libera nos a malo" or perhaps even jabbing someone in the neck.

Sorry to be such a Catholic nerd, but Pentecost is not the birthday of the Church, Good Friday is. The Church was born from the blood and water that rushed forth from the pierced heart of Christ as he hung upon the cross at Calvary (CCC 766). Pentecost would be more aptly called the Confirmation of the Church.

So...Happy 2000th Confirmation Anniversary! We can still have a ginormous cake with 2000 candles on it for the bajillion Catholics in the world...even those who don't know they are Catholic (ask Fr. Corapi about that one...)

St. Therese (think) said in response to a question about falling asleep in chapel "The Surgeon cannot work on the patient while he is awake." Or something along those lines.

Debridement: medical removal of a patient's dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue.

I was sleeping...the Holy Spirit was removing my dead, puss filled, infected tissue rotting in my soul.
