CatherineM
I think I heard on the TV news that Canada is going to own 13% of GM for the money they've forked over. I guess that's just of GMCanda. I wonder how Ottawa is going to feel about it when Obama begins to require GM move all their production back to the US?

Mercy me
Ford is looking smarter and smarter for refusing the bailout. Personally, I have always bought American cars and GM at that. However, since I can't think of a single thing that the government does well, I will not be buying another Chrysler or GM car in the future. Unfortunately, I dunno if they'd win again...

Lounge Daddy
Of course, the new head of Government Motors doesn't know jack-craap about cars.
“I don’t know anything about cars,” Whitacre, 67, said yesterday in an interview after his appointment. “A business is a business, and I think I can learn about cars. I’m not that old, and I think the business principles are the same.”
Last year the very left-leaning Statist named Senator Feinstein said that only some of government should be run as a business. (ALL of government should be run as a business!) I am sure that the comrades Versailles DC also think that only some of business needs to be run as a business also -- thus the bail-outs and the nationalization and putting propping up people to head industries that they know nothing about.
