Maintaining the clandestine One World Order of Knights Templar and the College of Cardinals is not cheap!
Saving the world is much more important.

My inner typesetting geek weeps at that appeal, but they get 12 points for guts. Go Catholic Answers!

I have actually no idea what the rules on this kind of stuff are in .nl . But most people won't talk about abortion anyway, taxes or no taxes.

Oh, wait, there must be some rule, because a parochial vicar once joked that he said "I am not allowed to give you voting advice, but fortunately I don't have to, for you all know that people who vote D66 go straight to hell!" in one of his sermons.
Nothing. Don't read the story listed on the site above. Me and "Karl Keating" were good pals. He secretly told me this whole story was a lie. He's using the money to jump-start his plans for world domination. This man can't be trusted. In fact, I'm opening my own fundraiser to counter his evil plot. PM me to find out how you can help! (P.S. you are all morally obliged to donate now that you know his true motives)
I'm willing to send a non binding IOU for a large sum of money

Maybe if he is successful more churches will speak out who have been afraid to before.

That's the spirit Hassan! You "Catholics" could learn from his example. The world is at stake and all you can talk about is the IRS?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It wouldn't be a bad thing to see some clarification of the IRS regulations in this area.

I don't know that I'll give money, though. I am at best ambivalent about Catholic Answers, and I thought the "Voter's Guide for Serious Catholics" was a joke, and not nearly nuanced enough to be really useful for a serious Catholic voter.

Catholic Answers is definitely a great apologetics resource but dang can they be annoying. Like those newsletters that keep saying, "We still have not heard from you or gotten a donation from you."

Why? Not Obama-friendly enough for your tastes?

Dang, there sure is a lot of cynicism on this thread. It was Keating's Catholicism and Fundamentalism that first made me see not only that Catholic theology was tenable, but that it was better and more defensible than any other Christian worldview I'd experienced.

People who smirk at Keating, even with his org's heavy-handed pleas for donations, tend to forget that the work he's doing is good, and that he was doing Catholic apologetics before Catholic apologetics was cool.

Besides Phatmass, Catholic Answers was a great resource for me in my reversion to the Catholic faith.

I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion. I happen to agree with her that it was lacking in its approach and left certain things open to one's own interpretation.
