FiereMargriet
Are there any teachings pertaining to "talking" to people in Heaven? I know that Heaven is an eternal union with and praising of God, but will there be a chance to "share" our thoughts, feelings, life stories, and questions with the other souls up there? (I'm thinking particularly in terms of asking canonized, capital-S Saints and historical figures questions about their lives.) I know this is kind of a convoluted question, but I wondered if there were either official Church teaching or general consensuses on the subject. Thanks! Thy Geekdom Come
The only explicit teaching of the Church I'm aware of on the topic is on the subject of the Communion of Saints. Keeping in mind what we know on that topic, I think it falls well within the sensus fidelium (the sense of the faithful) that we will converse with the saints and angels in heaven. I'm not sure that it'll be like we're all hanging out and chatting around Heaven's water cooler, but there will be a deep communion not only between all souls and God, but amongst all souls. I'm of the personal opinion that that communion will go deeper than language would allow in conversation. Exactly how it will happen will be a mystery, but I'm sure that all the saints know one another very intimately. God bless, Micah
