Nihil Obstat
Why would anyone use Dvorak? Seriously. They've never been proven to be faster. Never.

Whether she's faster with Dvorak than with a US QWERTY I don't know, though.

homeschoolmom
Wasn't qwerty arranged as it is to keep the keys from locking together (I HATED THAT!)? Doesn't seem like the most efficient way to type now except that most people learn that way in typing (er... uh... keyboarding) class.

Or at least they did when I was trying to use one for the first time to write an email! Mind you, Dutch keyboards (not than many people have them anymore, the US layout is almost ubiquitous in NL) are just as bizarre.
CatherineM
I can hit 100 on QWERTY, and have been using it for 40 years, so I can't imagine trying to learn a different keyboard. The touch screen on my GPS is ABCDEF, and it takes me forever to type in addresses. This is what I learned on.
