My Brother Is In Intensive Care; He Was Assaulted

I just got an email from my Mom today saying my brother is in the ICU. Apparently he was jumped by a group of men on the street in California who literally beat his face in. He currently has his jaw wired shut and is breathing through a tube inserted into his throat via a tracheotomy. These men crushed one of his cheek bones, an eye socket, broke his nose and smashed his jaw. He will be undergoing facial reconstruction surgery over the next few weeks.

Please pray for my brother's recovery. Moreso, though, please pray for his conversion from his reckless lifestyle. He has been living on the edge for quite some time and it has caught up with him once again. I don't know how far the Lord must bring him before he hits bottom and changes his ways, but I honestly can't see it getting any lower.

As well, please pray for me and my family. There is a lot of confusion, anger, and sorrow running through our hearts and minds right now. Ask the Lord to bring about something good in us as we suffer through these feelings together.

P.S. And though it is hard for me to ask right now, please pray for my brother's attackers. The very essence of their humanity must be questioned given their atrocious actions. Someone like that must nearly have lost all hope of God's love in their life. Pray that God converts them from the godless path they have chosen to tread.
