I really have nothing to say to counter its hilarity. I do have to say though, that you obviously have not seen Death Note. If you did, you would know that Death Note's major message is one should never have a power that they cannot handle. You probably just saw an excerpt or a clip of it and said OMG itz da debil's wurk. Or you were just too horrified by the fact that there are fictional death gods in Death Note. I will watch, play, and listen to whatever I choose, and I don't feel guilty about it. Even God enjoys some good worldly things once in a while, right?
No!.... He Doesnt! Besides, many animes have *fantastic* writers and storylines. Howl's Moving Castle? Death Note? Cowboy Bebop? Not to mention, some anime movies feature the most amazing artwork. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a notable one. And don't diss the hair, dude.
Labyrinth decidedly not anime. "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." It is not yet time for me to rest and drop my cross, not until the day I die, then, if by His Infinite Mercy He finds me worthy to share in His Goodness, shall I rest in Him. When I read the Scriptures, Catholic Doctrine, and the Saints, I don't ever see them teach this care free attitude. Just the fact that my little two sentence statement against makeup shook the very foundations of Phatmass shows that just maybe someone, not saying you, may have an inordinate attachment to makeup. Let me ask you a serious question, and please give me a serious and honest answer. If God were to show you the truth about how very difficult it is to get to Heaven and how easy it is to go to hell, and how the many things that even Catholic-Christians do, and consider them harmless lead them into hell, what would you do? And say that God filled your soul with such a great love for Him and zeal for the salvation of souls, wouldn't you do anything to get them to turn back from their ways or would you tell them that what they do is okay even though you were given the knowledge of their damnation if they were to die in that paticular state of being? And your right, I'm starting to see that maybe Phatmass is not the place for me or evangelization, I had much more success on myspace, even though it is filled with so many more evils. But, please don't forget that our Holy Father in Rome is asking for members of the Church to use the media to evangelize and bring others closer to Christ, do not think that I enjoy using the media in anyway. And to answer some of the questions about men cutting their hair or using deodorant, I do the bare minimum. In fact if you seen me, you would think I looked like a modern day John the Baptist. The only reason why I even take care of myself in anyway, is because of obedience and charity to others, I hate having to waste time to take showers and all that stuff. No, I don't think that all are called to follow and serve Christ in such a unique and radical way as me, but when I preach or teach I will not water down the message in anyway whatsoever, just so as to please the flesh of man, I seek to please my Father in Heaven and work for the salvation of souls. There's something about me you must know, before my conversion to Christ I was tightly caught in the clutches of Satan, I was in complete darkness and submerged in mortal sin. I have seen and lived in the darkness of hell in this life, I have battled and sometimes still do with Satan spiritually and physically, I know his time is short and he is pissed and will do anything to cause souls to fall. So, please try to look at things from my perspective, "those who are given much, are expected much", I would be willing to exchange all my limbs for at least one soul to return to Christ. Anyway before I reveal my soul on phatmass, for I have already said way too much, I just want you and all the people on here to know that I really truly do love you, I would do anything for you insofar as it brings you closer to Him, that we may all rejoice together as we gaze upon the most glorious Beatific Vision of our great God. If you haven't, do so. If you have read, or when you will read, and still do not know the answer for your question, than you are probably not doing what you should do, which is, making the changes necessary that the reader be urged to the throughout these books. Innocent
Anime is most obviously satanic influenced, this can anyone who are honest confess, not to mention the mere evil and satanic in just those few you mentioned, Death Note? Please I have seen that and I know the evil of it, yes I have done all the evil which can be done in the world, and for this reason have I learned to see it for what it really is. People persisting in these worldly evil pleasures will not be Saved, and you will all remain blind until the day you take your salvation seriously, admitting that evil is evil and good is good. You will remain blind, and God will permit you to remain blind, for you persist in calling what is evil good and good evil. What amazing blindness, how unlucky the sinner is indeed! You know for a very certain fact, that you would never in your life, ifyou know you would be dead tomorrow, waste your precious time onsomething worldly, whatever it might be, and even the thought ofworldly evil movies, series, anime or video games, would not even crossyour mind. No you would indeed do something edifying for your soulwhich you knew would draw your mind heavenwards. You knew you would doprayer and penance, go to confession, fast, cry and implore God of thedivine mercy and to die in state of grace.
As you say, it is common to read in many spiritual books about ascesis, advice about the proper use of time to pray and perform duties of state and good works. But we must also make time for leisure, must we not? Josef Pieper has written a book about the good that comes out of leisure. And in our leisure, cannot we enjoy these anime and other works of art? Of course it goes without saying that we must not succumb to the Vice of Curiosity and spend the time meant for our studies or professional work on recreational activity. Theologian in Training
Hietanen, Out of curiosity, how do you spend a typical day? Obviously, you do a lot of reading and, I would imagine, praying, but, day to day, what is it you do?
Hietanen
I spend my day fearing God more and more, by trying to live my life in such a way as to please him, so I may arise with joy. When I did not care about my salvation, then indeed I did also watch these evil anime series, watching porn and masturbating, playing evil video games and watching bad movies. For worldly people hate the light and do not care of the light and neither do they come to the light. I am in no way justifying my self for stating the obvious. Many of you are just dishonest and can't even admit that evil is evil and good is good. I admit I have done these evil things, but I have changed and do them no more. I still do more evil before the Lord then you, for I am indeed a great sinner, but how can the sinner ever conquer if he does not try to overcome? The first evil to overcome is the world and its worldly pleasures, evil violent video games, bad films and series, satanic influenced music & violent satanic anime series and everything else which people very well knows to be wrong and against God and Christian moral. The second evil to overcome are the evil of your mind, the evil thoughts, the pride of life and the lusts and concupiscence of the flesh. But how can these second evils ever be conquered by those whom don't even care to overcome the first of evils? Its impossible and it can never happen. Read Christs words below and take heed my beloved, Book 5 - Revelation 8 www.prophecyfilm.com Christ speaks: "That man was singing: 'Deliver me, O Lord, from the unrighteous man!'His voice is in my ears like the sound of two stones struck together. His heart calls to me as if with three voices. The first says: 'I want to have my will in my own control, to sleep and to rise and to talk of pleasant things. I shall give to nature what it craves. I want money in my purse, soft clothes on my back. When I get these and similar things,I count them a greater happiness than all other gifts and the spiritual virtues of the soul.' His second voice says: 'Death is not too hard, and the judgment is not so severe as is written; harsh threats are made as a warning, but mild punishments are given out of mercy. Therefore, so long as I can have my will in the present, let my soul make its passage as best it can in the future.' The third voice says: 'God would not have redeemed us, if he had not wanted to give us heavenly things, nor would he have suffered, if he had not wanted to bring us back to our fatherland. Indeed, why did he suffer? Or who compelled him to suffer? Of course, I do not understand heavenly things except by hearsay, and I do not know for sure whether I should trust the Scriptures. If I could only have my will, I would have it instead of the heavenly kingdom.' You can see what that man's will is like and why his voice is like the sound of stones in my ears. But, o friend, I answer your first voice: Your way does not tend toward heaven, nor is the passion of my love to your taste. Therefore hell lies open for you, and, because you love the low things of the earth, you will go to the regions below. I answer your second voice:Son, death will be hard for you, judgment unbearable, and flight impossible, unless you mend your ways. I tell your third voice:Brother, I did all my works out of love in order that you might become like me and so that, after having been turned away from me, you might return to me. But now my works are dead in you, my words are burdensome, and my way is neglected. What awaits you, therefore, is the torment and company of demons, because you turn your back on me, you trample underfoot the signs of my humility, and you do not consider how I stood on the cross in your sight and for your sake. I stood there in three ways for your sake. First as a man, whose eye a dagger would penetrate; second, as a man whose heart would be pierced by a sword; third, as a man whose every limb would shake with the pain of pressing affliction. My passion indeed was more bitter tome than a puncture in the eye; yet I suffered it out of love. My mother's sorrow moved my heart more than my own, yet I bore it. All my inner and outer parts, too, shook for a long time from pressing pain and suffering, yet I did not give up nor retreat. Thus I stood in your sight, but you forget and neglect and scorn it all. You will therefore be thrust away like an abortion and a menstrual cloth."
