Supporters have spent millions on persuading rationale congressmen to vote for the government option. At least with the health insurance companies, it's private money spent by private citizens working against a public takeover of health care.

Those in favor have the largest lobbyist in their corner and his efforts have cost tax payers lots of money. That lobbyist is Obama himself. He has been pressuring congressmen to his way, staging town hall meetings, press conferences with staged doctors, etc. Then there are tons of lobbyists on capital hill pushing the constitutionalists to their agenda, all at tax payer expense. I have not even covered the money spent by the willing press and supportive organizations pushing Obama's agenda.

So, I applaud the health insurance companies and their lobbyists! 1st amendment isn't dead yet!

i would rather there be 380 million dollars of bribes to kill The Healthcare Bill, than 380 million dollars of funds to kill unborn babies...

(but in this case, i think they lose on both sides...whether or not healthcare is reformed, we taxpayers are still footing the bill for abortions, and the abortion industry is handsomely funded, thanks to our prez's executive powers...)

cutting off the nose, to spite the face.

I don't buy into the administration's fear mongering. The U.S. will not collapse if there is no public option. (We'll ignore the fact medicaid is already a public option for the poor.)

My face was overrated anyway.
