eagle_eye222001 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 My family was walking to the parish center after Mass when my mom had a heart attack. She was taken via ambulance to the hospital and admitted where she had another heart attack. At this point, I think she is going to make it, but we don't know what caused it and that is what they are trying to figure out now.
IcePrincessKRS Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 That must be so scary for your family. She, and all of you, will be in my prayers.
Archaeology cat Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Praying! Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Ed Normile Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I truly feel for you, the good that may come out of this is now that she knows she has heart problems it can be addressed. My mother was 58 when we found out she had congestive heart failure, no symptoms, and we lost her four days later. I have never really got over it, it was so sudden and unexpected, all I could feel was at least she did not suffer long. I will keep your mom in my prayers. ed
littleflower+JMJ Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 sorry to hear that eagle eye. your family will be in my prayers!
eagle_eye222001 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Thank you for all your prayers. We found out that one of her small arteries is blocked/torn. Fortunately, the rest of her heart looks really good. We were told that she had the "right" kind of heart attack, one that doesn't do any permanent damage. Some of her older children -one being I was able to briefly visit her, and aside from being hungry, thirsty, and some back pain, she's feeling okay. She is spending the night in ICU but I think it's more out of precaution. It seems she will be able to recover, so thank you very much for your concern and prayers.
