CRAZY DOPE POST, YO!

Since we were discussing it in the "You Know You're a Future Nun" thread here is the religious community I made in the Sims. They're Benedictines (surprise, surprise!) and I've got 6 solemnly professed sisters and two novices.

I made one too! But I don't think it's that great. I'm gonna make another one when I find my Sims 3 game that I lost. hmmm... pictures seem to not be working for me...

It didn't take me very long. I only work part-time so I'm home alone a lot.

They're aren't any hairstyles in the game that work as a long veil, I did try to find one. That style was the closest I could get.

Maybe someone should suggest to the company that develops the game that they should add some ecclesiastical and ethnic garb. After all, if a convent can be created, why not a yeshiva or a synagogue, a mosque or a church? [I never played Sims, but my daughters did]

Wow! It looks incredible! Great job, Em! I really need to get a copy to make my own. I'll probably go with Carmelite nuns or Poor Clares. We shall see! :)

That is very well done, Emily!

That looks like so much fun!

Interesting that you gave the 'hard seats' to the lay people, and the cushions to the nuns! ;)

Can't wait to see the refectory (dining hall) and some of the work rooms!

And I totally agree with Antigonos.... and will also add that there are a lot of people who choose to 'veil' for many reasons....including hair loss because of illness.

The nuns have to spend a lot more time there than the lay people!

I haven't quite finished the refectory or the other rooms just yet, I need to remodel a bit. The lot I built on isn't quite big enough so I think I'll have to move it to a new lot.

That is actually so much like so many monasteries... they build to fit the community.... and when it gets bigger, they purchase nearby lots and build some more... and add walkways, bridges, small gardens, etc. to join the elements. You could have a LOT of fun with this! Maybe add some visitor quarters and retreatant rooms -- for US!!!! Be sure to include a computer room so we can all stay in touch, OK?

They should set up an online game where we all get to build our own covents/monasteries. Challenges could include getting vocations and building a new foundation. We could even grow vegetables in the garden and tend to chickens. Nunville?
