Annie12 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) So, next week I am going to a family function that is being held at a lake. I have the choice of wearing my frumpy swimsuit or my swimsuit that has shorts and I guess it's a bikini top but more modest than that. But anyway. I am concerned if I wear the two piece it will be immodest. However, I will look ridiculous if I wear my other swim suit. What should I do!!! The top looks like the one here http://www.kohls.com...m Separates.jsp Is this too immodest? Edit: I am a twig so I don't fill clothing out the way most women do. Edited May 27, 2012 by Annie12
Papist Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 IMO, the suit in the link is very immodest. It is on par with underwear.
4588686 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 You should just wear shorts and a tank top or something. You may take the money that you were going to waste on another swimsuit and send it to me.

This place has cute, and pretty modest bathing suits that aren't too awfully much.

vee Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 wear this
FutureCarmeliteClaire Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I don't personally think the top is very modest. What does the frumpy one look like? Maybe you could just wear the shorts with a tee shirt or go out and get a rash guard or something.
Archaeology cat Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 you can always get rash guard to wear over the top, if you're concerned.

vee Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 DUUUUUUST!!! make some phatmass rash guards!!! I want one that says "walk on water"
Lil Red Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 P.S. you are not immodest for wanting to wear a swimsuit instead of a t-shirt and shorts (which can be way more immodest than a swimsuit.)
Lil Red Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I didn't say a two piece. I said a swimsuit. One pieces can be modest. So can some two pieces (though not all)
PhuturePriest Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I personally do not like two-pieces or bikinis in general. They're highly immodest. Plus, your exposed skin actually attracts the human eye because it is normally lighter and its color is more striking, especially when you have sunscreen on and are in the sun. To me it's a bit ironic to basically wear nothing and then complain everyone is staring at you. If I walked in the street with no shirt on I would fully expect everyone to stare at me. I don't think you are a terrible person for wearing this type of clothing ,but I do want you to know that it will attract attention if you wear it and it is not particularly because all men are pigs, but rather it screams for attention in the first place.
PhuturePriest Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 (edited)
Tankinis are two pieces and most of them are modest.
I've honestly never heard of one until now. I Googled them and although the top pieces are rather modest the bottom half is pretty immodest in my opinion. It's like a bikini plus a shirt, really. Edited May 28, 2012 by FuturePriest387

Back to topic...1-piece or 2-piece, it will be difficult for a woman to go modest. I like when my wife wears a rashguard and board shorts. Edited May 28, 2012 by Papist
FutureCarmeliteClaire Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I got mine from www.dressingforhisglory.com Simply because it is more comfortable and I like to cover up a bit more. It works great when swimming! And dries super easy!
