Yes, rather then using our time and resources on simply making the practice illegal- which will proabably be like the Prohibition- we do need to focus on things that do lower the number of women who find this unthinkable act desirable for themselves.

We should be doing both, but the idea that federal programs will lower the number of abortions is nonsense, and - in fact - those programs will simply worsen the hedonism that is presently running rampant in American society.

As I said, the book is more a Democratic Party document, which advocates massive increases in the powers of the federal government, an idea that is clearly contrary to the Catholic principle of subsidiarity.

Well, would you rather have that or an aborted child? In all reality today, this is the choice. In an ideal world, it would be different, but ours is a real life.

I guess your reading comprehension is a bit low, because I just said that those programs will increase the number of abortions. Abortion needs to be addressed in a twofold manner: (1) it should be made illegal, and (2) Americans need to be taught about virtue and morality again. A democratic republic can only exist when the electorate has at least a basic grasp on the real meaning of the phrase "pursuit of happiness."

And arguing on the internet with people fits into that where, Apo?

Perhaps you should not be on the internet, since you do not know how it "fits in" to things.

How actually are you adding to the morality of the country? Especially by being on here?

Appy, being a faithful catholic theologian, seems to add quite a bit. :)

I recommend Victor Hugo's works (for their literary value, not for their orthodoxy, which is more than highly suspect since many of them were on the Index).

I'd have to agree with Rexi's recommendation!
