I heard he watched several NCAA football games last year... maybe we should give him a Heisman too.

CNN might just cover a story on why he deserves one...

She continued amidst the backlash for months and months until she was 'officially' told to cease. She did under much vocal protest. But I'm sure she'll be back for more. Whenever I see someone disobedient like this, I only wonder why they don't just move on to a religion that observes their beliefs instead of creating disunity in our own Church. It just makes no sense and I feel sorry for these souls who must be truly unhappy individuals. All they do is complain about the male hierarchy of the Church and say how wrong we all are with our antiquated beliefs. If that's the case, why remain?

Because as a professed Sister, her community owes her three squares a day and a bed. That's why these people stay. They usually entered fairly young and do not have a lot of life experience they can fall back on if they were to leave. The same reason some women get and stay married... Security.

Then her community ought to hold that "security" over her head until she renounces her heretical, murderous beliefs.

Well, if you look at the more progressive communities, you'll see that they're really well educated (not that more traditional communities are not) and you'll also see that they do not have a common apostolate but instead have very individual careers, many in social justices. So, and I'm not sure in her particular case, many of these sisters really do have a job that they'd be able to resume if turned out into the secular world. I'm actually more inclined to believe part of what you say, that she entered very young and wouldn't know how to function as a secular living alone: paying all the bills, managing a budget on her own, all those things laity experience while living alone in a house or apt. However... I know a couple of sisters who get sent out from their motherhouse, choosing their own diocese in which to work, and live in their own apartments that their own jobs pay for. So maybe it's not any of the things you mention above.

A long time ago I was discerning religious life and went to one of those religious life discernment get togethers where various religious from the diocese showed up. I got into a discussion with one sister, because back then (almost 20 yrs ago) I was very young and naive and never knew there even were religious who didn't wear habits or live in community. At first she started in on how after Vatican II, they saw the light and just like religious 200-300 yrs ago wore the clothing of the day, that's what they've decided to do as well, making themselves more approachable to the laity. It was clear as our conversation progressed and I continued to ask questions, always prefacing it that I wasn't being flip or disrespectful but I just wanted to know, that she was getting RRP (Right royally pissed). In fact, I was almost waiting for her to stomp her foot. The conversation turned to the male dominance and oppression of the 'male infested antiquated hierarchy'. I said 'it seems like you don't really like the Catholic Church and I'm wondering if you don't like her, why do you stay?' Her response was say that it was HER Church too and by golly she was going to stay through thick and thin and help change it until it's 'right again'.

So truly, who knows why Sr. Donna stays.

Well, actually that community isn't really known for being all that orthodox in their faith. I'm sure they thought she was just being expressive of 'social justice'. Their site said they were 'just made aware' of what was going on. But I'm wondering how long they knew... it could really be true that she was doing this for a while and with their laissez faire way of living (she very well could have not been living anywhere near her other sisters) they didn't know... or they could have known all along and now with the Visitation coming up they're saving face. Either is a distinct possibility.
