If one does not adhere to the One, True Church, his fruit is rotten, and he will be cast into the eternal fire. Interestingly enough, Session V of the Council of Trent statest that it is impossible to please God unless one has the Catholic faith. The Council references Saint Paul's Epistle to the Hebrews, c.f., Hebrews xi.6. You might enjoy this whole chapter. God bless.
