I don't know all their beliefs (it's hard to pin them down, since they have ranks like Freemasonry) but the video was consistent with what I do know of them. There were some things in the video, though, that I hadn't heard. The gist of it is accurate.

Basically. I can't vouch for absolutely everything (there are citations of it in the info box), but like what Raphael says, it's consistent with what I know of Mormonism. I do know that when they evangelize, they specifically leave out the weirder parts of the beliefs and you don't learn about them until you actually join.

Groupthink, brainwashing, impressing people with their outward niceness, not putting the entire body of their doctrines out in the open, but slowly changing people's beliefs one step at a time. Average Mormons don't even necessarily know all the Mormon beliefs or even have them available to them.

They don't get told it until after they join which is why these cartoons are discouraged from being shown and the door-to-door missionaries will only discuss certain topics.

I mean, since you joined, they figure you won't run out of the temple screaming and will probably just accept it.

That's probably why the cartoon was banned. The belief in the cartoon on black people was an authentic Mormon belief they have been criticized for. "Fortunately," Mormonism has a living "prophet" who can change Mormon teaching at will.

I saw the Oprah show where she visited the FLDS ranch, and she asked about this and it was denied.

I really don't hope they believe people with darker skin are evil or something like that.

We need some Mormons on here to spice things up. Okay, someone go find a forum identical to this one but populated by Mormons and begin to introduce yourself. Be nice and shower them with fuzzy feelings. That way, they'll come on here and criticize the rest of us who are shocked by their true beliefs. We'll have a royal rumble but successfully defend our fortress. Hoorah!
