IgnatiusofLoyola
I was a Camp Fire Girl. Back when there was such a thing before they started letting boys in.
Yes!!!! I was a Campfire Girl, too. But, letting boys in would seem to defeat part of the purpose--I'm sorry they did that. I couldn't be a Girl Scout because the color of their uniforms is not in my color palette. That shade of green makes me look like I am dying of some wasting disease. And, I look worse in the beige of the Brownie uniform. Funny how I understood this even as a 6 or 7 year old--that I looked terrible in certain colors. (Okay, the truth is that there were no Girl Scout or Brownie troops at my grade school, so it was Camp Fire Girls or nothing. But, I do look terrible in the colors of Girl Scout/Brownie uniforms.) CatherineM
That's the way it was at my school. Campfire, but no Girl Scouts. Have no idea why.

Held a joint ceremonty with my three best friends in high school.
A "joint ceremony" would have had a different meaning when I was in high school, but I assume you meant that the four of you shared a ceremony in which you were "elevated" (is that the right word?) to Eagle Scout. Belated congratulations!
CatherineM
I wonder if my Eagle Scout would like one of those rifles.

I know lots of people who wish they'd stuck with it, but never heard anyone say that getting it had been a waste of their time. He was 3 months away from being too old when he finished. The medal itself didn't come until he was off at boot camp, so he never got to have a party.
