Nunsense Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) I wasn't going to post anything until there was something to post, but this Easter has been so beautiful for me that I felt I had to write and ask for prayers from my phatmass phamily again. The Cross has always been my touchstone and my guide through life, but this year, the Resurrection has become real for me for the first time, and I am aware not only of the passion and suffering of Our Lord, but of the love that led Him through death to the Resurrection to save us all from death and to bring us into eternal life. Life for me is alive again. So Nunsense is discerning religious life again after seven months out of the convent. When one has been in a relationship that ends badly, sometimes they feel as if they are never going to fall in love again - it is all too painful. So last year when my SD told me to wait for six months before discerning again, I thought that was fine, that I would never want to apply to a convent ever again, especially at my age. But seven months later, I feel like Jeremiah, who tried to stop talking about God but found his heart burning for Him anyway. I was going to say no way to religious life, but God has His own plans and ideas. I have started discerning again with Carmelites and am involved in some correspondence with one in particular. So I ask for all of your prayers to help me return to religious life and to persevere and become a professed Carmelite nun. Thank you all so much. I don't know how this will all work out, but I am grateful to God for all that He has granted to me, and for this wonderful phamily here as well. In the love of the Risen Christ. Nunsense Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Thank you all for your enthusiasm and prayers. It will be a little while longer before anything definite can be announced and then many months I am sure before I can enter (if the vote goes for me) so I am being premature I know. But at least I have committed myself to discerning religious life again, and for awhile I wasn't even sure about that. I think that being able to read and write so much on phatmass here has helped me a lot to work things through and come to a decision. Discernment is an individual process but sometimes it helps to put things on the outside to get a better view of them. BTW I am slowly deleting posts and links on FB and will eventually shut that down so don't anyone feel hurt if you suddenly realize that you have been 'unfriended' (not immediately, but in the near future). It isn't personal, but with FB's privacy laws changing at the end of April, I don't want anything I write there to be available to third parties accidently. I will stay on Phatmass until I enter, but FB has become a bit of a distraction for me, and I am starting to untangle myself from it. I am going to keep writing and am still thinking about doing another book, but am discerning that right now, as to whether it will be of any benefit or not to the Church in the long run. She needs all our support right now. Thank you again for all your loving support.....

May God always make you a tenacious lover of Him surrendering all in Love. tenderly, Indwelling Trinity[/quote] Thank you so much. I can't help but go slowly as the timing has nothing to do with me, but with the community. I rest in the arms of Jesus as always. I have been away from Carmel for seven months now and God knows what is best in all things. I have been so grateful to have been able to connect with family again in Australia and to meet nieces and nephews that I might never have seen if I had never come back here. The one thing that I have learned from everything that has happened is that all things are done for our good, as Julian of Norwich said, "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well." I will post more as I hear more, but for now, I wait, content that I have done all I can to come closer to God, and now it is in His Hands what He wants of me. I can't find the quote but one of the hermits told me that Catherine of Sienna was told by Jesus that He didn't want her great deeds, but her longing for Him. So, whatever the outcome may be, I am offering Him my longing for Him. I thank you for your prayers. Please pray that I only do what is pleasing to Him in this matter.
Nunsense Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 I love all the emoticons everyone - thank you for being as happy for me as I am. I know it is way too soon to say anything because until the Council actually confirms with me, it is all still in the realm of hope, but that's ok. The thirst will only get stronger, and that is a good thing no matter what the outcome. "My soul thirsts for you like a dry, weary land without water."
