I enjoyed that site very much in my Latin studies.

This thread actually makes me want to go back to it, and go back to my studies.

Let me help you with that!

:detective: What does this say? :saint:

I know it says something about praying and Saint Joseph and Angels and Eastertide and Sunday.

Well, I'm teasing. I always took pride in Latin. I was the first person in the history of my high school to get gold medals on all four National Latin Exams, but by the time the end of my senior year rolled around, I was far more interested in theology, and I only ended up getting a minor in college.

Oh well, it serves its purposes.

Funny thing, I started out as a Theo major before switching to Classics. I'll be minoring in Theology, though, so you can fill in my blanks with Theo and I'll fill in your blanks with Latin (AFTER I graduate, that is). :saint:

I'm honestly not sure I have any blanks with Latin. I'm fairly proficient and well-studied. I've studied Caesar, Cicero, Ovid, Catullus, Virgil, Medieval Latin, Epistolary Latin...

I get the Latin...I just haven't read every author (or any author completely, really).

Well, maybe you can STILL fill in my blanks about Theology.

The first lesson about theology is that I'm humbler than you. This is why I mentioned all my Latin experience. To glory in how proud I am is to practice a paradoxical self-abasement whereby I am supremely humble.

Bow before my sublime humility.

To the first part: noted
To the second part: Did you miss the part in Theo 101 where they taught the ten commandments?

I didn't say you had to bow in adoration. Dulia will be just fine.

Ooohhh, right. My bad.

Wait... does dulia apply to people who are still alive?

In the same way that you are?

I've seen St. Vincent de Paul and Mother Cabrini's bodies. I don't know about the others, but those two are definitely not alive in the same way you are.

"In this prayer, to the letter N.(I think..), the name of the patron saint of the particular church is said (literally forced out); and the names of the holy angels and the holy John the Baptist. If they were the patron saint (if they have been of the titular), they are placed before (of)the name of holy Joseph.

However in the time of Pascha, from Feria II. after White Sunday (sunday in white)through to the vigil of the Ascension 'Inclusive' (Sorry I couldn't figure out what this word is... latin fail). So into the office from the time as from the Sanctus(?), to the place of the preceding judgment(?? not sure here, my dictionary is more of a classical one. Suffragium means vote or judgment there), the following commemoration is to be done."

I tried to give you a less literal translation, but where I thought it was necessary provided some notes as to the literal meaning. I apologize, my Latin is not the best and my dictionary(as mentioned above) is mostly limited to classical terms and definitions.
