I think that Annikan is unwilling to compromise on something incredibly irrational. His emotions have caused him to believe that he is absolutely right. I think that Obi Wan Kenobi could be referring to that.

I think Obi Wan is referring to Anakin's statement that those not for him are against him, which is an absolute as it leaves no middle ground.

Then again Jesus didn't think there was a middle ground either
