Tridenteen Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 JMJ I always celebrate Write Your Priest/Nun/Seminarian a letter day. It is celebrated religiously every other Monday. Now, who do you guys write to? Also, I am curious...when you made your first vocational inquiries, did you email, call, or send a letter? And what is your favorite stationary? I always use saint stationary, and deep blue fountain pens.....although I have toyed with the idea of sending a hot pink ink written letter to my priests/seminarians [img]http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/public/style_emoticons/default/lol_roll.gif[/img]

JTheresa Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 AAAAAHHHH!!!! Not meaning to brag, but I know too many priests, nuns and seminarians to write them all letters. Maybe I should divide up the days. Seminarians Monday, nuns Wednesday, and priests thursday. Man, I'm gonna need moar stamps.
Nunsense Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I'm afraid that I usually email unless I don't have an email address for them. I recently sent a snail mail to a hermit priest but he replied to me via email! I used to love writing letters but it is very rare these days for me to actually send snail mail to anyone. I do send praymail to them all every day though. They might not realize this unless they are checking their own 'prayermail inbox' but that's okay, I know that God delivers them straight to their hearts anyway!

zunshynn Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Ha... maybe I should take this opportunity to finally send a letter to OLAM. I think I've only sent one to one sister since I left. I keep starting letters for the whole community and then I never send it. I also still have one of their books. oops.
Thomist-in-Training Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Tridenteen, I don't have a day but I do try & write to 'mine' so I will try and finish the most recent letter to 'my nun'! Actually I have several people I can write to on every other Monday! Priest x 1 Nun x .... 1 that I can write to who can write back (4 others, praised be Jesus and Mary!), plus my monastery Seminarian x 1 whom I write relatively faithfully. Plus a wouldbe seminarian whom I really really owe a letter actually. I should email him. Also, I occasionally write to our local Carmelites, just to say hello because I don't see them as much as I used to.

TeresaBenedicta Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I just wrote to one of my nun friends in the Poor Clares today. :-) I don't expect a letter back until Christmas time, though. I got one from her during Easter and it made my week! Reminds me... I should probably give my priest friend a call-- yesterday was his one year anniversary of his ordination!

Stamps are too expensive. But I just mailed a letter to a seminarian friend of mine a couple if days ago. I was so excited to hear from him!! He gave me an Our Lady of Grace brown scapular!! Gotta love seminarians!!
