Are There Any Good (And Free) Catholic Dating Sites?

I've been having a lot of trouble finding one. :sadder:

My husband and I met on Ave Maria Singles. It does cost money, but it is a one time fee so you don't have to worry about trying to hurry to find someone. If you are low income, or single parent, they will give you a 50% scholarship. It's not a dating site though. It's for people who are seriously discerning the vocation of marriage and looking for someone who is also serious about courting, not dating.

There's one site that's free that we all attend every Sunday or Saturday evening...

I and all of my friends have found Catholics in Cincinnati to be rather, well, anti-social... There's friends of mine who are lifelong Catholics with orthodox theology who have no Catholic friends here whatsoever. The Jesuits have done a lot of damage to the Church here...

Yeah, I was just hearing recently a few stories about things in Cincinnati. Priests have told me Louisville is one of the worst dioceses in the country for liturgical abuses, heretical teaching, etc, but Cincy sounded worse. I think it's just bad everywhere.

That said... we need converts. Date a heretic.

Yeah, it's awful here... the Church here is NOT able to receive new converts well... but that may be more of a cultural thing... Cincinnati in general is not very accepting of new people in, well... anything!!! My experience thus far has been very discouraging.

Where the heck would I find a Nestorian around here? Or an Arian for that matter?

I've always thought that a young woman would find it a refreshing change to meet a guy who was interested in commitment and marriage, but what do I know?

You would the latter at your Unitarian Universalist community.

I don't know if it was unclear due to my use of the word "dating" in the title, but marriage is what I'm ultimately looking for. It's not like I'm looking to jump around or anything... The problem is that with all of my current health problems and being on disability, pursuing a marriage in the immediate future is probably not a good idea. I would like to meet someone who I would marry, though...

I haven't seen any that are free, and unfortunately, that originally turned me off to the whole "online dating" idea ... but with a little encouragement from someone dear to me, I tried it ... and now I'm married to a wonderful Catholic man and we're expecting our first bundle of joy! Not only that, but two dear friends of mine are now happily married thanks to the same website.

I would recommend Ave Maria Singles for the reasons CatherineM mentioned.

I met my husband at CatholicMatch.com - it does cost money, and you do have to renew it after time (only if you want to, however), but that initial contact is really all you need, then you can chat/call/meet a person from there. The great thing, I think, about Catholic Match is the vast number of people on the website -- it literally took me only 3 days of being a member before my future husband and I made contact!

Anyway, what all that boils down to is this: in my opinion, it's worth the money. At least to try it - I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)

Where would I find a UU Church in Fundie Baptist Haven around here?

I also met my husband on Catholic Match, and paid for only a one-month membership. I didn't have a lot of time to date because I was in school; my membership covered just a little longer than my Christmas break, but that was all I needed. You only need to buy the membership in order to communicate with people, though, so you can look around and see if it's worth it before buying.

In my opinion, paying for using a site is one way of helping to weed out less-serious people from the site. Overall I think that is a good thing, although in your case, eustace, it has the additional and less-desirable effect of keeping out otherwise serious people who are short on cash.

CatholicSingles.com allows you to set up an account for free, but you do have to pay subscribe to services like messaging and email.

Most of the girls looked cute.
