Religious Sisters, In Habit, Apostolate Of Spiritual Talks/conf/retrea

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm having a look at women's religious orders in the USA and Canada, in habit, that are contemplative, semi, or active, and that have a specific side work or apostolate of small spiritual talks, conferences, retreats, or similar. NOT a classroom teaching order, catechesis, CCD, etc. Just small stuff.

I found a few like this, and these are good examples:

Please share what you know.

God bless you.

This site doesn't have every community or Order but it has a lot. Hope it helps!

It's sounds as though you want a semi-contemplative order that focuses more on prayer than on apostolate. Those are some great orders that you linked to. Perhaps these will appeal to you as well:

I think it's at least part of the apostolates of these orders:

There sure are some beautiful orders out there! With some searching that is.

When you say specific apostolate of "small spiritual talks, conferences, retreats, or similar. NOT a classroom teaching order, catechesis, CCD, etc. Just small stuff" that fits the Sister Servants perfectly!

I know the Sisters very well, as I was with them for five years. They are a WONDERFUL group - I actually just spoke with the Vocation Directress the other day. If you haven't visited them yet, I highly suggest going on a retreat there. You can only really see the incredible beauty of their way of life if you visit them in person. If you can get there, the retreat donation is waived, since it would be a vocation visit. Please PM me if you'd like more info! :)

Ha, I just realized I already posted info on them for you in another thread ...

I hope you don't mind my nagging ... I guess the Holy Spirit led me to say more about these great Sisters! :D Can you tell I think they're great?

I made a discernment retreat with the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth. Pretty sure I don't have a vocation with them but they are lovely and fit your description. Love them! They breed German Shepards too if you like dogs.

Shana, I'd absolutely love to hear what you know about them, as I've been falling in love with the order myself! I love Franciscan spirituality.

P.S. LOVE the quote in your icon.

I think this order falls into this category:

And I'm confused about the following order, because it showed up on IRL under a search for Spiritual ministry. Yet I can't locate an apostolate on their site. Anyone know?:

Looks like another order with spiritual retreat apostolate, among others.

This community isn't recognized by the Worcester Diocese and the OCDs anymore as a religious community/private association, http://www.worcester...51/Default.aspx Keep them in prayer though, as they look lovely. I hate to see any Carmelite community having trouble ..

Another community that fit this description perfectly .. Sisters of Reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
