New Phatmass Postulants

As we know, Phatmass members JTheresa and alrichey entered the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration yesterday. JTeresa had said earlier that their entrance ceremony was today, and the pictures are already on the Web! (If someone is able to download the pictures, please do so.)

So, looking at their website, I observe that all the Sisters are in habits, but they're different.

Most of the older sisters are wearing a habit that is "more modified" -- brown suits, similar to what I might wear to the office, plus a veil.

The younger sisters uniformly seem to be a step more traditional, with tunic and scapular.

Huh. Interesting.

I was very impressed (and surprised!) that pictures were up so early.

Although they look happy, to me the new postulants look a little scared and hesitant, too. However, I expect it's scary on your very first day to stand up in front of the congregation of Sisters for the first time.

I compared their picture with that of the two new novices who were invested this summer. The new novices are beaming ear to ear! Obviously, a year in the Community makes you feel much more comfortable. So, I expect that, next summer, we'll see these four postulants beaming ear to ear, too. And, that's wonderful!

You're right, it is scary to be the 'new kid on the block'. By the time they get their habits, they will no doubt be grinning from ear to ear too! :dance:
