Because they are a heretical non-Christian sect I do not give to them anymore than I would donate money to any other similar organization. They believe in a type of pelagainism and bring their salvation to ruin. The Catholic Church can do the most good and there are good Catholic charities to donate too. If that is not enough their connection to Planned Parenthood is terrible.

See I always kinda thought their religious affiliation was now irrelevant (almost like how back in the day institutions of higher education had a religious culture/philosophy or what have you and now they're usually not). I figured The Salvation Army took care of the poor as I have heard about the good work they've done here and there. I was actually surprised to find out the SA is an actual Protestant denom. I guess I wasn't as critical of this org as I should have been but regardless of how much they may or may not help the poor the PP connection is really disappointing so I won't be donating to that ish again.

Eww! WHY? But, thank you for posting this. I'd heard that they were connected, but nothing more than just hear-say. This gives me something more legit to go off of. Well, time to e-mail my family and make sure they don't donate!

Since I am unemployed, I don't usually give them anything, but my mom shares and gives me a dollar and we both put some money in. We've done this twice this year. I really think the Salvation Army is a worthy cause because they support homeless people and help the poor find jobs like Goodwill.

edited to add: I didn't know they were affiliated with Planned Parenthood! I won't be donating again anytime soon.

I'm glad you posted that. Usually I'll drop a couple coins or a dollar in their bucket, but now that i know this I'm add that money to my church donation.

In my area there is a saxophone player, hes actually rather good, I feel more compelled to tip him rather than his cause. But the "[i]salvation army's[/i]" terrible bus drivers who feel their divinely exempt from traffic regulations has compelled me to not support them.

Its seems to be the politically correct thing to do these days. even the Girl Scouts of America admit to being "partners" with Planned Parenthood. There is one charitable organization, the one that gives the largest portion of monies collected to the causes its collected for, the one that never donates to Planned Parenthood or programs that give condoms to kids or anything else untoward, the Roman Catholic Church.

Their connection to PP is the money they donate to them.
And I don't think Jesus wants us donating to an organization that supports killing babies.

They actually do that, I didn't know. If they do (please give me evidence of at least a couple of non-catholic news stories to show me) and I will stop supporting them.

Lets say, for argument sake,I made a Christian organization to store cord-blood stem cells of mothers who just gave birth. We would absolutely make sure not one stem cell from an aborted fetus would be used. I start this organization, and we go out and ask for donations of people for maintenance. Would it not be the same as Jesus saying, hey these people may not be Catholic, but they are for me and for you.

That's the question I am asking - Brother Adam, would you give?
