Wyd 2011

Dear friends,
We are planing to participate in World Youth Day 2011. We are making a group in our parish but we are confused about age factors.
As official website of WYD 2011 says;
Pilgrims usually fall between the ages of 14 and 30. The average participant is between 16 and 25 years old.
but in our group people are ages of 18 to 45.
As i am a group leader of this team. I am very afraid about age factor.
I need advise. Please help me to solve this matter.

I'm pretty sure you'll be okay just as long as you keep a flock of kids around you... since you're like, old and stuff.

Thanks Dust. Actually i am getting this information because in my parish people are not economically well. They will hardly to manage for their pilgrim to WYD and also they will pay 132 Euros that a big amount in my country. I dont want that there is any doubt or any problem for them in future.

Dust i had written a letter to WYD organizers and ask them about this question.
This reply they sent me today;
"WYD is thought and made for YOUTH so that we strongly recommand that only youth between 16 and 30 register. We will not provide any facilities or a program for families and children."

How does it work to go to WYD? Do you have to pay for your own flight, hotel, food, travel, etc.? Or are their groups?

Yes we have to pay for our own flight.
As we are in countries category C so we will pay to WYD for our accommodation and food. Yes we will register group.

However, adult chaperons accompanying the YOUTH will be just fine. So...the 45 year old in your group...just say that person is organizing or watching out for the younger ones.

I'm in the "youth" category. It'd be nice if I could get into an all-paid group, where they handle the food, hotel, flight etc., and you just pay one fee.
