DameAgnes Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 A Carmel in Mobile Alabama, whose last four nuns have moved, has been renovated and 8 Vietnamese nuns are coming to move in. Until they're in residence though, the Carmel allowed the surrounding community to visit and tour the place http://blogs.fox10tv.com/2011/02/07/looking-behind-the-walls/
cmotherofpirl Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Wow that is such an amazing experience
Totally Franciscan Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I was fortunate enough to be invited to the open houses of two Poor Clare monasteries, one that had some new construction, the Poor Clares of Los Altos Hills, CA, and the Poor Clares of Aptos, CA at their new monastery. The Los Altos sisters did not meet the public, but the Aptos sisters did, as they had not yet been cloistered in their new monastery. Both were wonderful experiences and treasured memories.
