Yesterday was so much fun, well it would have been funner if it were Carmel but hey

I think you just have to decide. You have valid pros and also valid cons. I'd suggest to go with what your heart tells you.

A friend of mine was thinking about entering a specific community and wanted to do an experience with them. Since she had already begun an experience with a different community her SD told her to wait. In the end she saved herself time, energy and the cost of a plane fare, because she ended up having a totally unexpected opportunity to spend time with that very community. She decided rather quickly that it wasn't the place for her.

Your situation is different, but I tell this story to make the point that God provides even when the circumstances are unlikely. So don't worry, if you decide that going is not the best choice.
