The Myth Of The Spanish Inquisition

Read in another thread about the pheasibility (feasibility) of burning of new age teachers at the stake and I thought it might be a good idea to start a discussion on the Spanish Inquisition.

As with other modern day misconceptions of Church history it seems as the Inquisition has been grossly misrepresented. This documentary done by the BBC (not exactly a pro Catholic news source) sets the record straight on the Inquisition particularly in regard to the Church's protestant counterparts.

What I find interesting is that the program documents, the 3,000 to 5,000 documented executions of the Inquisition. Very sad, but it pales in comparison to the 150,000 documented witch burnings elsewhere in Europe over the [u]same centuries[/u].

Thanks for the video. I did a lot of research on the Spanish Inquisition for a paper a few years back, but I never saw this. Kewl!
