OnlySunshine Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 The official canonization process of Bl. Elizabeth of the Trinity of the Order of Carmelites Discalced (OCD) was opened on July 11th, 2011. I know that my friend, who will be re-entering Carmel next June, will be excited to hear this since she will be named after this Blessed in religious life. http://www.discalcedcarmel.com/vernoticia.php?Id=3185

IamMyBeloveds Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Oh my goodness, I am almost in tears as I read this!!! It's about time!! If she is canonized before I re-enter, I will seriously consider using my money (whatever little I have) to go to the canonization! (I can dream can't I?) lol Oh, I'm just SO HAPPY! I dearly love her spirituality and feel a strong devotion toward her. "I have found heaven on earth, since heaven is God, and God is in my soul. My mission in heaven will be to draw souls, helping them to go out of themselves to cling to God, with a spontaneous, love-filled action, and to keep them in that great interior silence which enables God to make his mark on them, to transform them into himself."(Letter 122) "A soul united to Jesus is a living smile that radiates Him and gives Him." "I can't find words to express my happiness. Here there is no longer anything but God. He is All; He suffices and we live by Him alone." (Letter 91)

I was looking for information for Savannah Carmel and this just happened to pop up.
Chiquitunga Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Super wonderful!!! Love her so much!! I wonder if there's a chance they might reprint this absolutely gorgeous book on her now, Light Love Life This reminds me, I need to see that movie Sabeth! Have a copy from EWTN. The Sister there in that picture narrates it
krissylou Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Clarification. Does this mean that a (potential) 2nd miracle is up for review? Because when I hear that "the official canonization process has been opened" I would THINK that means that the cause for canonization has been received in Rome ("Servant of God" status). Obviously that can't be what we're talking about, as she's already a 'Blessed.' So I figure the Carmelites think they have a 2nd miracle on their hands. But I just want to clarify ...
They do have a second miracle. The article talks about a woman with Sjögren syndrome, which affects the major organ systems of the body. She prayed for the intercession of Bl. Elizabeth and was healed, miraculously, as she sat down on some pavement stones after leaving the Chapel.
FutureSister2009 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 There will NEVER be enough Carmelite Saints! I hope they do it and do it quickly! And then get back to work on Blessed Mother Teresa and JP II to get them canonized!
faithcecelia Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Elizabeth of the Trinity was the first Carmelite saint I 'took to' and was my favourite for some time (before I grasped St Teresa more and began to adore her). i do hope the canonisation happend soon.
GraceUk Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 There are a lot of Carmelite saints. I wonder if that's because Carmel makes people holy or whether more holy people are attracted to Carmel. A bit of both I expect. I don't know very much about Elizabeth of the Trinity. In fact nothing. Have to remedy that!
