And I'll be here holding down the fort with even more prayers!

I can always use more prayers! I'm going to Adoration tomorrow from 2-3pm, so I'll remember all of you from VS. ;)

I'm going to start my weekly holy hour this Wednesday so if you all need payers, just tell me. :)

Unfortunately, I was unable to get to the Chapel today because I needed to keep an eye on my dog. She hadn't been to the toilet since last night, so I had to take her out periodically. She finally relieved herself after much coaxing.

the171, please say some prayers about my visit to the RSMs this weekend! I'll be praying for you, too.

I just got 2 emails from the Vocation Director. One was a list of items to bring and another was directions on the pickup. I think it's finally starting to sink in that the retreat is this weekend! The best thing is that I will not be alone! There are 4 other girls that have signed up and I cannot wait to meet them! The funny thing is that all of our names either start with J or C. I had a good laugh about that because those are the initials of Jesus Christ! I think that is a major God-wink.

Well, since it is midnight, I can officially post this:

2 days and a wakeup!!!! :woot:

I went to the CRHP meeting tonight and my priest, who has not been with us in the other meetings, was finally able to be with us this evening for the duration. It was so nice to have him there. He had no idea that I am going to visit the RSMs this weekend (but he knows I am discerning because I met with him in March), so it was nice to finally be able to tell him. He gave me a hug and wished me well. He is a VERY nice man and I am so blessed to have him as my parish pastor! :)

Oh on a side note (though related), I just got an e-mail from the RSM VD checking in with me. Unexpected but nice!

I went to my regular Confession today and my pastor was the Confessor! I always enjoy when he listens to me because he gives such excellent advice. I have been to numerous confessors, and while there was only 2 "bad" experiences, I fully appreciate my pastor. There are some that just give generic penances, but he gives penances specifically tailored to your sins. I love that! :)

He also reminded me to tell him about my retreat after this weekend. He is really excited to see what comes of it, which is simply amesome. I am so thankful to have a loving, caring priest in charge of my parish. God bless him.

I thought I'd keep an updated thread on my progress with this order (kind of like faithcecilia with the Notting Hill thread) since I am in active contact with the Vocation Director and am making a visit in November 11-14. I am very excited! If you haven't read what has been happening, you can read everything (up to this point) on this thread:

My friend posted a link to my Facebook page that was of a Knights of Columbus video about Women Discerning Religious Life. I saw Sr. Moira of the RSMs and the order was shown for about 2 minutes or so. I'd never seen the video before and I thought it was excellent. :)

(scroll down to the bottom to watch the video which is quite long -- 15 minutes)

I hope this goes well for you. I searched them and they look like a lovely community. When I first saw your post I thought: 'Aren't all the Sisters of Mercy affiliated with LCWR'. I'd imagine by looking at the community you have chosen that they aren't.

AHHHH I just started packing... :)
