Luigi Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011
Me too, it's very pretty. I noticed that a lot of the black veils look translucent? Is this artistic license or did veils used to be made of some funny material?
Yes, many orders had translucent veils, but I don't know the name of the facric - maybe tulle? (I've heard my mother talk about it as a fabric for bridal veils?)

Maximilianus Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 I racking my brain for pre-reformation European artist. I figure they would have had more access to religious thus I'd get more works. For some reason nuns are harder to come by, I'm assuming it's because of their cloistered nature. Friars are the easiest to find. So far the Renaissance hasn't giving me much. I'm trying to avoid mass produced hoy card type images and commonly known works and focus on obscure works of everyday religious and clerics.
brandelynmarie Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Ah, this would be a challenge...I will try harder.
