Benedictines! amesome and under-appreciated. Contemplative wannabes always seem to want to go Carmelite. Though Carmelites are pretty razzle dazzle too.

Carmelites, because they were the first order that I love and continue to do so
Dominicans, because they are just all kinds of amesome
Missionaries of Charity, because they do extraordinary work with such humility and love

Other,
Right now it's the order that used to be called the Royal, Celestial and Military Order of Our Lady of Mercy and the Redemption of the Captives and the Order of Citeaux.

My guy friend wants to be a Jesuit. He thinks it's his calling to reform the order. He is in denial that they are a bunch of hippies, though :) It's too bad I'll be in the convent before he finishes seminary, I'd like to see if he can survive a Jesuit... :w00t:

Hmm, I get a bit wary when people start saying it's their calling to reform things. It reminds me of a saying by Leo Tolstoy: "Everybody thinks of changing the world, but nobody thinks of changing himself." ;) I expect there are some unflattering and highly accurate descriptions that would suit me just fine, and which would make 'hippie' look like a compliment. But I hope the people who have to put up with me have the grace never to use them...
