marigold Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012
Seems like a good life I can never get over the sight of people standing in rows of boxes for church though. Just seems odd to me.
Isn't there another monastery in Petersham too?
Gemma_Kateri Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe these specific Franciscan sisters are barefoot in the chapel as a sign that they are walking on holy ground, in the way Moses removed his sandals in the prescence of the Lord with the burning bush.
You would be correct Although I just like to say it's cause they're legit.
mysisterisalittlesister Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 these are so wonderful! thank you everyone for posting these!
mysisterisalittlesister Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 how do you put videos on here?
EmilyAnn Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited)
how do you put videos on here?
I made it work! Just copy and paste the YouTube URL in and when you post it changes to the video. I knew I'd done it before but I just could not get it to work. If I were called to apostolic life I'd love to do work like that. Is it the novices that are all dressed in white? It looks lovely, but must be a pain to keep clean!
Yes, I'm almost positive that I'm called to this order, and I'm so happy about it (: in the wintertime, the novices have a black apron over their white blouse and skirt, but some of the novices say it's still really hard keep clean (:

That would be really sweet.
mysisterisalittlesister Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I really want to meet this Little Sister, Sr Mildred Mary of St Paul, she's so funny (: 2:53Add to Joy of Religious Life - 1 of 3by Godcalls 2,263 views

One of the Sisters pointed out that as far as washing goes it is actually easier because you can just bleach everything and the stains come out. So yes during the day it is probably a bit of a pain to keep clean but for the long term white is easier. This was something that I hadn't thought about before but it made a lot of sense.

PhuturePriest Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 These aren't Religious Life videos per say, but when I watched them last night I smiled uncontrollably, and it definitely made me decide to join the Franciscan Brothers Minor (At least for the moment. You never know when I may flip-flop. ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45ldNeBtje0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1i1bMQsELo&feature=related In the third video (Which I couldn't post), I want to know what the Bishop said to Father David Mary that made him laugh.
