I'm going on a retreat the weekend after New Year's, just a young adult retreat. That is the plan, at least. My deposit is due on Jan. 1 and I'm dragging my feet. I don't know why, but I have so much bad mojo (bad vibes) about going. I'm not sure if it's fear of confronting myself, of a new environment, or God trying to tell me something. I've really been stressing over this, and it's starting to get annoying...
AnneLine Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Missy, Same comment I gave Lil'Monster a few days back -- nerves are normal, especially if you are shy or uncomfortable in new situations. I can remember being nervous about getting involved in the YA group in our parish, and then about going on young adult retreats (and the vocation retreats!) -- and then having a wonderful time deepening my prayer life AND sharing times with people who shared my love for our Lord and who liked doing similar things... I'm still in a faith sharing group with some of them 20 years later!!! And two of the discernment people were my wedding attendants! You never know.... I can't promise, but I bet you both will have a wonderful time. And.... if I were a little devil, and thought you might do some good for God and souls coming off of that retreat... I'd do anything I could do to get you to NOT go. So.... start packing those bags! Will pray for you!
