I've heard plenty of secular people joke about the idea of 'does anyone really think God cares about who wins a football game?'

But the point is that God cares about people...and that people playing football should thank God, too, just like we all should, for our many blessings in life.

God doesn't help people win football games. But it's totally appropriate to thank God for the gifts to play the game well, keeping players from getting hurt, and ask for a speedy full recovery when they do.

Troy Polamalu crosses himself (Greek Orthodox style) regularly during the game. Great player, great guy.

There's a great pic of Steelers and Broncos praying together, I don't know whether it was before or after the game, kinda looks like after the game which is pretty amesome. I apparently can't upload it though hmmm...

Steeler Nation is NOT happy this week.
Tim Tebow is a pretty good football player, but I totally think God helped him win this one just to stick it to all those nasty critics of his , and the Steelers had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
God does have a sense of humor ( after all He made the platypus) so I hope he wins the Super Bowl to really annoy them.

God is helping Tebow win in that he gave him the talents and Tebow uses his faith to make himself the best he can be at what he is doing. He helps the players on the other teams in the same way. That a team looses does not mean that God helped the other team more however or favored the players on the winning team more.
