Question for all of you,
Have you been able to find skirts with pockets? Right now none of my skirts have pockets and it is kind of annoying!

If you get denim skirts they usually have pockets like jeans do. But it is difficult to find other type skirts with pockets that aren't then really unflattering (vain I know but being realistic).

On my skirts with pockets, they are super small, and basically pointless...

My wife only wears skirts and dresses. And now it be cold she wears long-johns underneath. She's so cute, especially when she wears sneakers.

I'm currently transitioning from skirts and pantaloons to skirts only. pantaloons, etc underneath when needed. Since I grew an inch (the last time I'll grow says my doctor. Still short.... lol!) I thought it'd be an opportune time for switching. i feel more like a woman when I wear skirts. Also, I'm somehow more aware of what I'm doing. I guess it's because you have to be careful in skirts. Also, I can't really find pantaloons that fit me modestly. They are either too tight around the hips or the legs. And it is uncomfortable. Lol! Skirts are better in many ways for me. :)

I have seen women come into our store wearing dresses and skirts. Really sweet people. :) They usually buy more skirts and jewelry and such.

I love wearing skirts, and I feel that a girl/lady who wears skirts is bringing out some of her (as JP II said) “feminine genius!” I feel it is modest, and lady-like to wear a skirt. I do not wear one all of the time. I usually wear a pair of jeans and a t-shirt because I do not have many skirts because it’s hard to find modest ones.

TT as for the pocket thing you could make a pocket. I know how to do, and if you like I could PM you and explain how to do it or explain on this thread. It’s simple.

She is indeed. And she also wants functional pockets in her skirts. Why is it the clothing companies don't want girls with pockets. I suggested she make a skirt using a pair of cargo pantaloons and incorporating all the pockets into the skirt. She loved the idea and I think she is going to go for it. She has made skirts using jeans before. She cut the legs long ways and inserted fabric between the legs to form a skirt.

It was a friend of hers that she got the idea from. The above picture is not the one she made. I got it on the internet just for an example. My wife picked a better fabric that this example. There are sites with instructions on how to do this. The problem is that most are instructions to make a mini-skirts b/c these days a skirt is de facto mini-skirt.

I know! I can not stand mini skirts! They are so immodest and that is what girls/ladies consider to be skirts nowadays.

Yes. It is ridiculous. You go into Walmart and Target and see little mini-skirts for toddlers and preschoolers. No wonder little girls become tarts.

I usually wear skirts and dresses. When I wear "trousers" they are accompanied by a tunic-like top. Muslim modesty sites have some lovely things but they are pricey . Also in the winter, ski underwear, tights and/or leggings keep me warm.

I agree that it's so difficult to find modest skirts. I've found some but you really have to look around, maybe in second hand stores. Sewing is very useful!

I do the same and never thought of it as jeans/dress. I wear long tunic tops over jeans or pantaloons/'trousers'. I never go sleeveless. When I was in college the nuns instilled in us that sleeveless was immodest and that we should always cover our shoulders and I have never abandoned this, though it certainly is no longer cultural. These same nuns said the same about jeans/pantaloons or 'trousers'. I started to wear same in my mid twenties.

I have two skirts with pockets .. one is cute and flowery... the other is the paintball skirt lol

I have a black, a brown and a moroon long and three quarter length skirts for "best". Blouses to tone in. Also a good pair of black slacks or pantaloons, trousers. We call them slacks in Australia. I recently purchased in a Red Cross Second Hand clothing shop a brand new "Maggie" brand linen shirt/tunic in a lovely muted pink. It cost me $9. When I checked out the cost on the net, since mine was new, the price tag was $196!!!!!.

I wear long skirts over long underwear and I have found I actually stay warmer than with just pantaloons.

Yes, in Alaska I know of many women who wear jeans under their skirts! :like2:
