"Here is an extraordinary letter written by a young nun, Sister Lucy Vertrusc, to her mother superior. Sister Vertrusc became pregnant after she was raped in 1995 during the war in the former Yugoslavia. The letter appeared in an Italian newspaper at the behest of her Mother Superior..."

How sad!
Who knows how is going the baby now...nowadays he should be almost 18, and maybe his mother will be able to enter the convent again: after all a mother can be a nun, right?

wow. Such faith and trust in the Lord. This is true love and dependency on the Lord.
I read this letter on the day it was posted and really....wow.. there were no words and it has stuck with me for many days like a meditation. What would I have done? This woman's trust in God will be a shining beacon of faith for me when I face hard times to come.
Thank you LD for posting it.

Letter was written as a form of literary preaching, or prose poetry, by an Italian priest, Alfredo Contran, who died in 2007. He won a prize for it, even. But then some people started circulating it as actually by an actual nun (the author of this article doesn't know whether maliciously or in good faith).
