Procreation Before The Fall?

I don't know why it would be any different...I'm just wondering why some of the Church fathers would think that procreation wouldn't be done by having sexual intercourse. This is what my professor brought up.

The Church Fathers were allowed to be wrong, you know. As for your professor not wanting to argue with them...why not? They certainly never stopped arguing with each other!
