Lil'Monster Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Less than a Month away!! I think I [s]will be going [/s] I AM CRAZY because I have been going through alot lately. This will be my third dsmme retreat and people are probably thinking "I hope lilmon will just enter already" Sorry folks it is not that easy. As I said earlier I have been going through alot of things right now and I feel like I am on a rollarcoaster with up's and down's....and even upside downs too! And please continue to pray for my discernment and that I will get the chance to speak with Sr. Joseph Andrew to discuss some things with her. I will not tell you what I wished to talk with her about.
Lil'Monster Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012
A sign of a true vocation Prayers!
Um what??
Egidio Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Be Brave. God does not trick us with the inspirations He gives us! Remember, once you enter the convent, you have many years before you make a final commitment. It is sort of a long engagement, with plenty of time to see if it really is what God wants. I will continue to pray for you, so that all obstacles might be removed between you and the Holy Will of God. AVE MARIA!!

Strictlyinkblot Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Prayers that God will guide you to what He wants you to do with your life, whatever that might be.
I think he was assessing your situation plus your OP and gently nudging you towards entering. Hope I am not putting words in Egidio's mouth.
Mary's Margaret Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 God bless you, Mon. You are in my prayers as you find your way through this time. God will light the way (but only one step at a time!)
AnneLine Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 One day at a time mon..... just enjoy your retreat, talk with Sr. JA, and more importantly, talk with God! Will pray for you on retreat this weekend.. (and for all of you)!
Maybe you should! Honestly I too think that you're you're young, so you haven't anything to loose if you enter the convent and then see it is not your way of life.
inperpetuity Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited)
Um what??
Just kidding You have time to figure it all out, just enjoy the ride. Edited October 12, 2012 by inperpetuity
Egidio Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Discernment can definitely be the most painful thing to go through. It is extremely personal and often seems just like a "roller coaster" ride, going in all directions with no sight of a ending point! It took me 4 times before I finally entered. It became extremely complex. I thought that entering would mean the end of all things (well not quite). But after about a month, I couldn't understand why I had been so concerned, and even afraid. I will pray that what ever it is that God is asking of you, and offering to you, that you will with great peace and courage accept and embrace it. In any case, even if you are not called, you can never have too many retreats. AVE MARIA! PS. This is my 100th post. You should feel honoured that it appears on your thread .

I don't want to waste my precious time by doing it though...... If I was in the boat of really knowing that this is what God called me.....I wouldn't be able to enter anyways. I got too much in my life as it is!

krissylou Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Oh, we know what you want to talk to Sr. Joseph Andrew about, don't try to hide it. You need to talk to her about your plans to celebrate the Year of Faith by evangelizing the chickens. (But pssst, the Franciscans may be a better fit there ...)

He is not going to punish a soul because that soul wants to investigate if it should serve God alone! On the contrary, He will reward the soul for its generosity and love, even if it is not called to that way of life. God CANNOT be outdone in generosity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope that you life is not too full that God is having trouble getting in. AVE MARIA!!
To Jesus Through Mary Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 21 is young. And with Edigio- time in the convent really is never wasted. God is way more generous then we are. In my short time in the convent (about 9 months) I learned more about holiness and prayer then all of my years as a Catholic (almost 6 years). Before I entered I was still doing daily Holy Hours and going to daily Mass, so it wasn't like that much of an increase of prayer, but quality. You can trust God with you life. (LOL! I really need to internalize this message!)
