Even if you go to a third DSMME retreat without feeling called to join that Community, that doesn't mean you don't have a vocation for religious life. It might mean that or it might mean that it's not the right time or the right Community.

I can think of a number of Phatmassers who have gone to DSMME or Nashville Dominican retreats, but then went on to join another Community. Or, not gone into religious life at all.

We'll all pray that God makes it clear to you exactly what he wants.

BTW--I personally don't believe that a person with a true vocation for religious life will "lose" their vocation if they don't act immediately. From reading the experiences of other Phatmassers, sometimes when a person starts discerning it is just too soon for them to act or it may be the wrong Community. From the posts I've read, if God wants you for religious life, he doesn't "let you go" that easily--He'll keep bugging you, so you don't need to worry if you don't feel it's right to decide immediately.

I'm also uncomfortable when I've heard people claim that if you have a vocation to religious life and don't act on it that means you'll be unhappy for the rest of your life. Personally, I think God works within our individual circumstances and there isn't "just one chance" to find a happy life following God's will.

However, I know other people see it differently. Exactly how God works is hard to understand sometimes (at least that's true for me).

It was your idea... ugh with the womens... being fizzed up on Coca-Cola can make people say wild and crazy things.

Which reminds me of something completely different. I have a crazy lil niece who likes to get jacked up on candy and spins and spins around till she gets dizzy. Then starts yelling "I'm getting busy! I getting busy! Halp! Save me!" It's pretty dang funny.

Sorry for breaking your thread. Nuns are super awwesome.
