maximillion Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Sr Pia-Jesu Sr Concordia Grace Sr Irenus-Marie (I am in reality Irene Mary).
brandelynmarie Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Oh goodness, um: Sr. Marie Solange Sr. Mary Trinity Sr. Mary Magdalene or Sr. Maria Magdalena Sr. Marie Therese Sr. Maria Faustina Or a combo thereof...Sr. Faustina Therese, Sr. Magdalene Therese...
MirrorAndAnvil Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I love the CFRs! :) I actually write and rewrite this list in class to keep me from falling asleep sometimes (along with drawing happy nun pictures). Sr. Maria(or Mary) Fiat of the Precious Blood Sr. Mary Magdalene of the Precious Blood Sr. Maximilian Maria of the Precious Blood Sr. Poverella would also be lovely (from St. Francis' nickname "Poverello", or "little poor man" in Italian) Sr. Micheal Claire of the Joyful Heart of Mary C.F.R. :nun:
AveMariaPurissima Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 My current picks (it changes every so often) are: Sr. Miriam Therese Sr. Faustina Therese Sr. Margaret Rose
TheresaThoma Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 These are so fun to read The top three that I can think of are Sr Miriam Edith Sr Stella Maris Sr Miriam Rose
Feankie Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 MIRRORANDANVIL, welcome to the Phorum. I didn't have my glasses on when I read your Phorum name the first time. I thought it said Mirror And Advil - which is what I need most mornings when I look at myself in the mirror these days! I wish I could have that "ageless" look that so many habited Sisters/Nuns have, but alas......
Julie de Sales Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 My new one is sister Benoite Marie (in honor of St Benedict Joseph Labre)
ChristinaTherese Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I love the CFRs! Francis' nickname "Poverello", or "little poor man" in Italian) Welcome! That sounds like a good way to deal with boredom and feeling like I need to do something else during class.... Along with sketching monstrances, crosses, etc. And the reason I quoted your post in the first place: Sr. Poverella sounds like a fantastic name. Maybe Sr. Maria Poverella? Hm....
kg94 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 For some reason I would go with Sr. Elizabeth Clare, after Elizabeth (Mary's cousin), and St. Clare of Assisi... Or else I would go with something like Sr. Therese Francis or Sr. Francis Therese... (after St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Therese of Lisieux)...
Kateri89 Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 My favorite name would be Sr. Maria Emmanuel but I'd be quite happy with Sr. Maria Cecilia, Sr. Maria Bakhita, or Sr. Maria Therese...I just want Maria to be the first name :proud:
ToJesusMyHeart Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Elizabeth Marie Elizabeth Catherine Maria Gaudium Mary Catherine (of the Visitation) (of the Precious Blood)
miserere55 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Many beautiful names!!!! This is fun. I LOVED the title ..."of Mary, Refuge of Sinners." May have to think about that one. My names: Sr. Mary Juliana of God (from Blessed Juliana of the Corpus Christi Feast) Sr, Chiara Mary of the Mercy of God Sr. Maria Trinitas of His Holy Face The PCC's of Rockford and Minooka allow a postulant to submit 3 names OR to permit the Abbess to choose.
InPersonaChriste Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Sister Saoirse Hildegard Because I like when people mess with pronunciation. It makes life more interesting
Pia Jesu Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Love your first selection, Maximillion...and also: Sr. Aimee of Jesus Sr. Marie-Josephe Sr. Noelle Marie I've recently been introduced to the beautiful devotion to Mary, Undoer of Knots. Wonder how that could be worked into a name...!
Freedom Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Sr. Mary Joan Joan of Arc has always been one of my many favorite saints. Plus I always like to think myself as tough but if I ever got into a religious community I'd prolly look like a pussy cat! I'd allow the Holy Spirit to work on the Rev. Mother Prioress and pick my new religious name. I just hope it's not ugly!
Talithacum Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Sr. Katherine, just because it means purity Sr. Talithacum, In the bible it means "little girl get up!" Sr. Therese
ChristinaTherese Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Not necessarily names I would pick, but names I was scribbling during class today/thought of later/ran into: Fr. Raphael Mary (OP) is a fantastic name, of a Dominican priest somewhere in the Western Province (USA) Sr. Maria Trinitatis Sr. Chiara Poverella (for St. Clare and St. Francis) Sr. Maria Chiara Poverella Sr. Maria Plantuncula (for St. Clare, near the end of her life she called herself the "plantuncula francisci", having coined (according to Mother Mary Francis) the word "plantuncula" because "she could not be little enough" (still Mother Francis)) Sr. Maria Florita (for St. Therese) Sr. Marie Colette Sr. Emmanuel Marie If I had to pick three and thought of those I might consider them.... Especially 4,5, and 6. But I already posted three. And these harp on the same saints in the previous three. They're just a bit more creative.
