She started the Catholic orphange here in Seattle. My father was given to them in 1930. It was ran by nuns. (he was adopted out later that year by my Catholic grandmother. He even became a alter boy. Once puberty hit..changed in his faith) she also worshipped in Seattle's beautiful cathedral as well.

Well, one black mark against me. Mother Cabrini was one of the saints picked for me for this coming year in Lil Red's drawing.

When I looked up my new saints, did I remember to write down their feast days? Of course not.

So, thank-you for this reminder. I hope she forgives me. :paperbag:

I love Mother Cabrini. There is a Shrine here in CO. http://www.mothercabrinishrine.org/ We go there every year for the RCIA retreat, I love it!

My parish, which is the Italian-American parish in my city was built specifically for the Immigrants such as my great grandparents. Our Chapel is named after and dedicated to Mother Cabrini. I love her! She has really been 'saint stalking' me a lot lately.
