IgnatiusofLoyola Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I am SO excited for Sister Faith! I am probably one of the VS people who knew Sr. Faith least (or at least it felt that way to me). Yet, she took the time to send me a letter for my birthday. I am so happy that Sister Faith has found a home that 1) she loves and 2) where she is loved. Thank-you for letting us know about this. Sister Faith will certainly be in my prayers.

nikita92 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Pardon my ignorance...is she from the UK? Went into retreat..is that another way of saying she has entered her community?
nikita92 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I just e-mailed them about purchasing two of the cute little nun dolls they make!!"O;-)
beatitude Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Pardon my ignorance...is she from the UK? Went into retreat..is that another way of saying she has entered her community? No, she entered nearly a year ago, and on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception she will receive the habit of a novice. It's the custom in many monasteries for postulants to make a retreat before that day, which typically means keeping apart from the rest of the community and having extra time for solitude and prayer, except for special meetings with the prioress and novice mistress. Some monasteries have hermitages in their grounds that allow sisters to go on retreat. She's English, yes.
i<3franciscans Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks for the update! She is in my prayers! :)
nikita92 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Great! Thank you for the information! They look to be a wonderful community! Prayers and blessings for Sister Faith! O:)
Mary's Margaret Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Just bringing this to the 'top of the pile' as tomorrow is Sr. Faith Cecilia's clothing. Let's raise her up to the Lord in prayers of joy-filled thanksgiving.
beatitude Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I see her tomorrow. Any messages for her, put them here, and I'll pass them on. :)
Maravillas Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I will keep her in my prayers! It is such a good news, and such a beautiful day to receive the habit!
Pax_et bonum Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I see her tomorrow. Any messages for her, put them here, and I'll pass them on. :) Could you ask her to pray for my parents? I'm in the application stage with Poor Clares, and my parents are still very opposed. ~Amanda (Pax et bonum) Thanks, beatitude!
IgnatiusofLoyola Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) I see her tomorrow. Any messages for her, put them here, and I'll pass them on. :) Beatitude--You are SO lucky (and blessed) to be able to be at Sister Faith's clothing. I have frequent flier miles, so I might have been able to make it to England, but my health, and responsibilities at home, prevent it. Please let Sister Faith know that I pray for her frequently, and her letter to me on my birthday was the nicest thing she could have done--it meant SOOO much, especially since I know that Sister Faith has friends who are much closer to her. As I see how God has blessed so many VS'ers, it helps me a lot. I have a very hard time believing that God is loving and personally interested and even more importantly, is invested in my welfare and happiness. When I see God blessing others, it is a reminder that God IS good, and not only that, IS personal. Edited December 7, 2012 by IgnatiusofLoyola
beatitude Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I was her friend in 'real life' before she entered the monastery, which is the only reason why I'm able to go. I know one PMer looked into travelling from overseas, but was told by the prioress that it would be better to wait until profession, which is a more public ceremony. I will pray that you're fit and healthy and able to make it over here for that, Iggy. I will pass on everything you've said. If anyone wants to write down messages for me to print off and take, I'll do that as well.
nikita92 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 That I hope sister may grow and preserver in her loving community of sisters! O;-)
