Is everyone almost ready to start the PHATMass Advent Novena?

The first 'Day' of the Novena will be posted in about FIVE HOURS!!!!!! (just after Midnight Pacific Time)

Just as a reminder….. this is how it works...

The Advent custom among many groups of Friars, Nuns and Sisters is that each member takes turns having the Baby Jesus come to spend the night and day in their cell - and having Him join him or her for a personal day of recollection.

Each night from December 17 through December 23, after Compline, we process with an image of the Infant Jesus from the Chapel to the Friar's cell who is having his Day of Recollection on the following day. Singing the "O" Antiphon of the day and carrying lighted candles, we make our way through the monastery, asking Jesus to COME!

It seems to me it is a nice custom, and we will be adapting it 'virtually' for our PHATMass Advent preparation.

We're doing it between December 7 and December 15 because doing it a bit earlier in the month seems to work better for Lay People--our lives get too busy just before Christmas!

As we get started….

Each day the baby Jesus will come and spend the day with Phatmassers who have this letter as the First Initial of their Screen Name:

Dec 7………….  A - C
Dec 8 …………. D - F
Dec 9 …………. G- I
Dec 10 ………... J - L
Dec 11 ………… M - O
Dec 12 ………… P - R
Dec 13 ………… S - U
Dec 14 ………….V - Z

AND

Dec 15 An extra day for dUSt & the Moderators who served during 2012!

Let's remember each day to pray for the intentions of those who host the Baby.

Each day you can expect to find....

* A different 'Baby Jesus' image to enjoy
* Some kind of a link to a spiritual video to help us prepare for Christmas and to make our Advent more prayerful.
* A video link that is more for fun (because that is part of Advent, too!)

* A prayer activity (this year, a decade of a 'scriptural rosary' based on some poetry of St. John of the Cross and some scripture)

* A little virtue-type habit to practice or a task to do

As your first Advent Novena task.... go find an image of Baby Jesus and set Him by your computer!!!!

You can choose one you already have in your home, download one onto your desktop, or use one of your Christmas Cards…. or draw one if you are so inclined!

When you see Him, pray for all of us, and ask him to find a warm dwelling in your heart this Christmas!

Get ready..... He's Coming!!!!!

Everyone can go every day as far as I am concerned.

But I'm not IN CHARGE.

You have to talk to the BIG  lil' GUY and his MOM to be sure..... ;)

just wanted to let you know many people are saying how blessed they are feeling;

it is clear that many of you are praying for your fellow PhatCitizens.

Continuing to hold all of you in prayer.....
